The Indiana Fever made an important roster decision on Tuesday as the WNBA’s midseason cutoff date passed. At this point, every player on the team is now on guaranteed contracts for the rest of the season.
This led to some unfortunate news for rookie Justine Pissott. The 6-foot-4 guard-forward has now parted ways with the team after the Fever decided to waive her contract.
Pissott leaves Indiana without having played a single minute for the team. After being selected as the 25th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, she secured her spot on the team via a developmental contract. However, the Fever never activated her and she never got the chance to make her WNBA debut for Indiana.

The Fever officially announced Pissott’s departure on Tuesday. They posted a thank you message for the 22-year-old via Instagram.
She wasn’t a free agent for very long, though. Pissott received some big news shortly after Indiana’s decision. Almost exactly one hour after the Fever posted their farewell message, the Las Vegas Aces announced that they had signed Pissott to a new deal.
“Welcome to Las Vegas, Justine!
” the Aces posted on Instagram.
Vegas wasted no time getting Pissott on its roster. This move is a clear idication that the Aces had their eye on her, and they made their move as soon as she became available. Pissott is now on a rest-of-the-season deal with the defending champions.
Interestingly, the Aces will host the Fever at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday. It remains to be seen if Pissott will take the floor, potentially facing off against her former team.
Before entering the WNBA, Pissott played four years in college. She suited up for Tennessee as a freshman before taking her talents to Vanderbilt. As a senior, the Toms River, NJ native averaged 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists, while also knocking down 2.8 triples per game on a 42.2% clip.
