Angel Reese fans have the same issue after Atlanta Dream announcement

Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese is officially an All-Star for a third consecutive season. This is after the WNBA announced the reserves for the upcoming All-Star Game on July 25. The festivities will be held at United Center, a venue that is very familiar for the 24-year-old during her time with the Chicago Sky.

Reese achieved this feat amid another strong season. She has been a key part of Atlanta’s success in her first year with the team. In 21 games played so far, the 6-foot-4 forward has averaged 14.9 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals in 30.6 minutes per contest.

The Dream took to social media to announce the news. Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard have also been named as All-Star reserves along with Reese.

Fans react to Angel Reese being an All-Star reserve

While this is undeniably another feather added in Reese’s cap, some fans could not help but complain about the development. The former LSU Tigers star’s avid supporters believe that she should have been voted as a starter.

“AR5 should be a starter.” a comment on Instagram read.

“ANGEL SHOULDA BEEN A STARTER ” another said.

“Angel not being a starter is a crime,” declared a fan.

“Reese definitely should’ve been a starter over jessica shepard they played,” a user wrote.

“Considering Reese number are better in EVERY aspect besides fg. Yes i agree even her defense is better,” agreed another.

“We getting you a starter spot next season Angel,” a reaction read.

Fan votes comprise 50% of total vote for the 10 All-Star starters. The media vote and players vote make up 25% each. The reserves, on the other hand, are voted by the 15 head coaches in the league.

Reese has never been an All-Star starter in her career. Her fans are hoping that the narrative changes next season.
