There were celebrations all around as Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark was recently announced as a starter for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game. This is the third consecutive year that the 6-foot guard has been voted as one of 10 starters.
The fans, however, could not help but notice one glaring fact about the final vote tally. Supporters could not accept how WNBA players voted Clark 11th among all guards.
For context, fan votes make up 50% of the total vote. The media vote comprises 25%, while player votes account for the final 25%. Based on the votes submitted by the active players in the league, the general consensus is that there are 10 other guards in the WNBA that are better than Clark.
Hall of Famer Candace Parker is having none of it.

Fans and analysts alike have had a lot to say about this development. In a recent episode of her “Post Moves” podcast with Fever star Aliyah Boston, Parker gave her brutally honest take on the issue at hand.
The three-time WNBA champion slammed the players for their decision to vote Clark the 11th-best guard in the league.
“I don’t know. I think people need to look at themselves in the mirror and realize you got some insecurities,” the two-time WNBA MVP said. “If you sitting down and putting Caitlin Clark as the 11th best guard, y’all need to go to a therapist and figure out what childhood issues you have.”

Parker is clearly in the same boat as fans who believe that players across the league have an agenda against Clark. One could argue that the Fever superstar is not the best guard in the WNBA right now. However, it’s hard to justify that there are 10 other players in the league who are better than her.
Parker is not sitting idly by and is calling out the disrespect.
