Total War: Warhammer 3 Bhashiva release date, units, lords, and campaign mechanics

Total War: Warhammer 3’s Bhashiva character pack is releasing soon, with Creative Assembly announcing its release date and features. The Bhashiva character pack release date comes on May 21st, with the DLC introducing a stealth and ambush-focused playstyle to Grand Cathay that sits in stark contrast to the faction’s traditionally defensive, formation-heavy style of play.
What’s coming with the Bhashiva character pack for Warhammer 3
Bhashiva, the White Tiger, is the new Legendary Lord headlining the pack. She is built around anti-infantry combat, wielding the Blades of Shang-Yang to cut through enemy lines, and her identity is built around the hunt rather than the hold. If you have ever found Cathay’s usual wall-and-dragon-breath approach a bit passive, she is the answer to that.
The core new unit type is the Tiger Warriors, Tigermen fighters who can be equipped with axes, guandao, or discs depending on the role you need them to fill. They are built for charges and ambushes rather than holding a line.
On the hero and lord side, the pack adds two new options.
- The Claw Speaker is a spellcaster hero pulling from the Lores of Beasts, Life, and Shadow, and is apparently no slouch in melee either.
- The Tiger Warrior Sawai is a lord built specifically around anti-large and armour-piercing damage, mirroring the aggressive style of the troops he leads.
It’s alongside the units, which are as follows:
- Legendary Lord: Bhashiva the Desert Tigress, The White Tiger of Shang-Yang
- Unit: Tiger Warrior (Dual Axes)
- Unit: Tiger Warrior Stalkers (Throwing Discs)
- Unit: Iron Claw Tiger Warriors (Guandao)
Bhashiva’s campaign revolves around recovering ancient relics and completing missions to earn Iron Favour. That favour is the currency you spend to unlock, develop, and call upon the armies of Shang-Yang. Relics can be picked up from captured settlements or found along the Ivory Road, and are spent within the Tiger Court to guide the tactical development of your Tiger Warriors.
It is a fairly focused loop that ties the campaign progression directly into the aggressive, relic-hunting fantasy the lord is built around, rather than bolting on a separate mechanic that has nothing to do with how she plays on the battlefield. If you want a hit and run playstylethat wants to ambush and charge while playing in Cathay, then it’s the DLV pack for you. It’s notably different to the the Grand Cathay armies that like formations and order, alongside the odd dragon god leader blasting foes with storm or steel on the battlefield.
The DLC was announced early this year, and it arrives on time. The original announcement said it would cost around £3.99 / $4.99 / €4.99. Whether it actually launches like that, considering other DLC price tags, remains to be seen.
