Skip Bayless and Caitlin Clark have often been linked through the veteran broadcaster’s commentary on the Indiana Fever star, and his latest observation centered on the noticeable evolution of her offensive game. As Clark continues to build a compelling case for the WNBA’s Most Valuable Player award, Bayless believes her physical development has become one of the biggest reasons behind her remarkable 2026 campaign.
Bayless pointed to Clark’s increased quickness, strength and aggressiveness as the most significant changes from her first two professional seasons. Rather than relying almost exclusively on her elite perimeter shooting and exceptional passing ability, Clark has become far more effective attacking the basket and putting constant pressure on opposing defenses. That added dimension has made her even more difficult to contain, forcing defenders to respect every aspect of her offensive arsenal.

The growth in Clark’s game has coincided with one of the most productive stretches of her career. She has consistently delivered high-scoring performances while continuing to rank among the league’s best playmakers, helping the Fever emerge as one of the WNBA’s most dangerous teams. Her ability to balance scoring with creating opportunities for teammates has elevated Indiana’s offense and made it one of the league’s most efficient units throughout the season.
Clark’s development has also strengthened her standing in the MVP race. Opposing defenses regularly dedicate extra attention to limiting her impact, yet she continues to produce at an elite level through improved decision-making and greater confidence attacking the paint. The added physicality in her game has allowed her to finish through contact more effectively while opening additional passing lanes for teammates when defenders collapse.

Bayless shared his observation about how Clark has been playing this season. This can be seen in a post he made on his official X account.
“Caitlin Clark is attacking with so much more quickness and strength and aggression than she did her first two pro seasons,” Bayless said.
Indiana has benefited from Clark’s continued evolution as the franchise pushes toward the postseason. Her chemistry with the Fever’s supporting cast has improved throughout the season, allowing the team to maintain offensive consistency even against some of the league’s strongest defenses. The combination of Clark’s scoring, vision and leadership has helped transform Indiana into a legitimate championship contender.
With the regular season entering its decisive stretch, Clark appears to be reaching her highest level at the perfect time. Bayless’ assessment reflects what many observers have noticed as the season has progressed, with Clark becoming a more complete and versatile player than ever before. If she continues performing at this level, her pursuit of individual honors could ultimately coincide with a deep playoff run for the Fever.
