Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong has claimed his spot a top the betting odds for the NL MVP race. As we wrap up the month of August, Crow-Armstrong is the favorite to win the NL MVP award, overtaking the previous favorite Shohei Ohtani.

With a month left in the season, Crow-Armstrong is in great shape as he is hoping to help lead the Cubs in the playoffs. He’s also cementing his status as a star on the national level as well, drawing more attention from analysts and those around the game.

He’s also seeing his trading cards skyrocket.

With the popularity of trading cards has taken off since the year 2020 as the growth has been more than steady in every year since then. With Crow-Armstrong looking like he’s set to win the NL MVP, the market for his cards is going to a whole new level. And one just broke a record.

Right now, Crow-Armstrong’s rookie cards are taking off as a hot item. But one that recently sold broke the record for most expensive PCA cards.

Per Sports Card Investor, the 2024 Topps Dynasty Gold Pete Crow-Armstrong Rookie Patch Auto 1-of-1 just sold for $66,000 on Fanatics Collect, making it his most expensive sale ever. Rookie patch cards are a hot item but the 1-of-1 version is the grail that everyone was after.

The seller of the card also made a pretty penny thanks to Crow-Armstrong’s success. Just back in July 2025, the same card sold on Fanatics Collect for $26,700. That’s a jump of close to $40,000 in a year.

A NEW RECORD FOR PCA CARDS

There’s no telling what that card will be worth if he does win the NL MVP. It could go up even more if Crow-Armstrong can continue this success into next season and beyond.

It’s not just rookie cards that are catching fire, either. Insert cards, variants, and numbered cards among others are also taking off. The price for his “Homefield Advantage” cards both rookie and non are also on the move.
