With his lingering calf injury, Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon is set to start on the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. But at the very least, the cornerback is putting forth an effort to get back on the gridiron.
Gordon linked up with footdoctor_moe, a body and rehab specialist who has worked with the likes of Jaylon Johnson, Cam Lewis and D’Andre Swift. It may be an unorthodox approach, but the cornerback is at least trying to overcome his calf ailment, via Nicholas Moreano of Bears Roundtable.

General manager Ryan Poles admitted he wasn’t sure if Gordon would play during the 2026 season. Because of that, the cornerback’s status will remain murky until he is cleared. But Gordon’s latest update at least affirms his want to be on the field. His calf injury has just gotten the better of him.
The Bears will continue to monitor Gordon and his calf throughout the first four weeks he is on the PUP and beyond. After Poles’ comments, any return during the regular season would be warmly welcomed.

Gordon’s 2025 campaign was filled with a litany of injuries, limiting him to just three games overall. The fact he remains injured with 2026’s Week 1 approaching is a bit jarring. Ultimately though, soft tissue injuries tend to linger, and Gordon has dealt with plenty of them.
When he is on the field, the cornerback has been a true asset for the Bears. They made him the highest-paid nickel cornerback on a three-year deal in 2025. Through his first 45 games in Chicago, Gordon has put up 214 tackles, 17 passes defended and five interceptions.
The Bears have plenty of questions to answer across their defense. Gordon’s return would answer some of them. But even with his extra work with an outside trainer, the cornerback still has a long journey back to suiting up for Chicago.
