DiJonai Carrington had no words for Chicago Sky’s message

DiJonai Carrington is amid the WNBA’s FIBA World Cup break. The Chicago Sky star and the team have four games left in the regular season and have been eliminated from playoff contention. She reacted to the Sky’s message on Instagram on Friday.

Carrington is averaging 8.8 points and 3.1 rebounds through 11 appearances this season. She has fully recovered from the injury she suffered last year and has been a bright spot for Chicago. However, the team is 10th in the standings with a 15-25 record. All is not lost as they can still finish the year strong and build momentum for the 2027 campaign.

The veteran guard has been a consistent contributor off the bench. She has showcased her defensive prowess and ability to score much-needed baskets when the Sky need it the most.

Chicago posted a message on Instagram on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. She shared it on her story along with just emojis.

Carrington and Co. are looking to snap their three-game losing skid. They will return to action on Thursday to take on the Washington Mystics Wintrust Arena. A road matchup with the Atlanta Dream follows two days later before hosting the Toronto Tempo on Sept. 22. Chicago will wrap up its season with a home game versus the Mystics on Sept. 24.

The 28-year-old was involved in some controversial plays this season. Her Flagrant 2 foul on Sophie Cunningham on Aug. 8 caused a stir, leading to her name dominating WNBA headlines. However, she has responded by continuing to play her game and providing the Sky with solid contributions.

The team will continue to rely on Carrington’s production off the bench as it finishes the season. Winning as much games as possible is crucial to gain momentum and give its fans more reason to be excited about next year.
