The Chicago Bears seemed more than content with Braxton Jones at left tackle. Ozzy Trapilo is nearing his return from injury. It seemed as if the Bears were approaching some stability at the position.
However, Jones picked up a knee injury in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was forced to leave the game and was replaced by Theo Benedet. His status is now unknown entering Week 4.
The Bears will certainly be paying close attention to their left tackle. It’s unclear if they feel comfortable having Trapilo active in a game yet. If not, Chicago’s left tackle issue has gotten much more dire.
Swinging a trade could be seen as a drastic measure. And if Jones’ health pans out, perhaps it isn’t needed. But with the Bears suddenly in need of some depth, a new trade target has emerged.

Like the Bears, the Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to prove their division title in 2025 wasn’t a fluke. Even more similar, they’ve gotten off to a 2-1 start.
But where Chicago and Jacksonville differ is their depth at left tackle. The Jaguars currently have Anton Harrison starting at the position, sending Walker Little to the bench. In the eyes of Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, that makes Little a prime trade candidate.
“Right now, Jacksonville isn’t one of those teams. It has its tackle tandem set with Anton Harrison and Cole Van Lanen,” Knox wrote. “Little, meanwhile, has played just 40 total snaps on offense and special teams.”
“Jacksonville would likely consider flipping Little for draft capital and/or some defensive help ahead of the trade deadline. Doing so would save the Jags $11.4 million in cap space,” he concluded.
While Little hasn’t played much in 2026, he has 73 games of NFL experience under his belt, including 39 starts. He started 14 games with the Jaguars in 2025. And while he would be a left tackle for this exercise, Little does have experience playing across the line.
Before making any trade, the Bears will do their due diligence. But if Jones’ injury is going to keep him out long-term, Chicago may need some outside help. And Little’s experience could be crucial for a Bears team trying to stay strong in the trenches.
