Bears QB Caleb Williams had no words for major NFL issue

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has, fortunately, avoided a major injury in his two seasons in the NFL. In fact, the USC product has never missed a game for the Bears since he joined the team as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.
The same cannot be said for San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle. The seven-time Pro Bowler has battled through multiple injuries throughout his decorated career. Last season, the two-time All-Pro TE tore his Achilles tendon in the 49ers’ Wild Card win over the Philadelphia Eagles. It turned out to be a season-ending injury for Kittle, who is currently still going through rehab after undergoing surgery.

Kittle has been very vocal about one of the biggest issues in the NFL today. The 32-year-old recently made another strong statement amid the ongoing debate between turf and grass fields. Kittle made his opinion on the matter abundantly clear.
“We’ve made it clear that we prefer grass fields,” Kittle declared. “We know it’s better on our bodies. And clearly, we know it’s possible based on everything that went into putting down grass fields for the World Cup in each stadium.
“At this point, it comes down to the NFL making it a priority and choosing to invest in us as players, because our bodies are our business, which they get to capitalize on!”
Williams had a subtle reaction to Kittle’s message. The Bears QB reposted Kittle’s quote on X. Williams had no words, instead opting to use one emoji to express his reaction.

The main issue players like Kittle have with turf is the injury risks posed by the artificial surface. The Niners star, in particular, has suffered multiple injuries while playing on turf. However, in terms of maintenance cost, turf is generally a cheaper alternative to natural grass fields.
For his part, Williams is not sitting out the debate. He may not be as vocal as Kittle, but the young QB is showing his support for his colleague on this divisive NFL issue.
