At this point in his career, Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has gotten used to all the negativity thrown in his direction. He has been a highly touted star for pretty much his entire career. The expectations became sky-high, however, when the Bears selected him first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The haters had a lot to say after Williams’ rather lackluster rookie campaign. He registered a 5-12 record in his first season. One of the biggest criticisms he received stemmed from the 68 sacks he took, resulting in 466 lost yards.
Williams proved his doubters wrong in Year 2, though. He led Chicago to the NFC North title behind an 11-6 record. Incredibly, his sacks dropped to just 24 this past season.

Williams recently went on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast. Among the questions he faced was about his haters. The Bears QB acknowledged that he uses negativity as fuel to motivate him even more.
The 24-year-old is also adamant that there’s just no way to escape the haters.
“You can’t not see them,” Williams said. “So all the people that say that are liars.”
The Bears QB also admitted that he has identified some NFL announcers that give him a hard time.
“Yeah, yeah, for sure,” Williams continued. “I’m not gonna say any names on here. … So yeah, there are reporters and analysts, or whatever you want to call them, that I remember. And sometimes I shake their hand a little bit harder when I see them in person.”

If Williams’ current trajectory is any indication of how Year 3 is going to be, then it could very well be another breakout campaign for the young quarterback in 2026.
He’s already proven that he belongs among the elite QBs in the NFL. His mission now is to show everyone that he’s the man who will lead the Bears to glory.
