Which White Sox Will Make the 2026 All-Star Team? These 4 In The Hunt

The first-place Chicago White Sox have been one of baseball’s biggest surprises this season. Not only have they blown past preseason rebuilding expectations, but they’ve also proven their strong start was no fluke and appear poised to remain in the playoff conversation throughout the year.

As a result, several players have begun generating All-Star buzz, including first baseman Munetaka Murakami, third baseman Miguel Vargas, shortstop Colson Montgomery, and starting pitcher Davis Martin. With Phase one of MLB All-Star voting just over the half way point, here is where the position players rank as of June 15.

Four Chicago White Sox players in the hunt to be 2026 All-Stars

Despite being on the injured list with a hamstring strain since May 30, Murakami currently ranks third among all American League first baseman with 437,07 votes. He trails Ben Rice of the New York Yankees with 509,830 and Vladimir Guerrero Jr of the Toronto Blue Jays with 603,014 votes.

Miguel Vargas is in the same position in the third base standings with 329,208 votes. There is a further gap between him and the second and first place players however as Kazuma Okamoto of the Blue Jays has 556,172 votes and Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays has 625,520 votes.

At shortstop, Colson Montgomery holds the fourth most votes at 176,673. Bobby Witt Jr of the Kansas City Royals is leading this position by a wide margin, with 890,575 votes, while Andres Gimenez of the Blue Jays and Kevin McGongile trail him with 354,651 and 266,239 votes respectively.

In order to advance to phase 2 of MLB All-Star voting, these White Sox position players have to be in at least second place. This means there is some work for each to do in order to keep their mid summer classic aspirations alive. Phase 1 of voting ends on June 25.

As a reminder, pitchers are not voted in by the fans. Rather, player votes and commissioner selection is how they are selected. With how dominant Davis Martin has been this year, it’s hard to image he won’t be selected.
