The Indiana Fever are atop the WNBA Eastern Conference with a record of 17-10. Of course, Caitlin Clark is, by far, their most popular player. That being said, she is also their most polarizing and controversial.

Clark, of course, was an easy addition to the WNBA All-Star Game, as was Fever teammate Kelsey Mitchell. While Clark continues to generate headlines both on and off the court, Mitchell is putting together a fine season in her own right.

So good has she been playing, in fact, that she has earned the respect of one of Indiana’s biggest rivals.

Mitchell made the WNBA All-Star Game for the fourth time in her career this season. She teamed up with Chicago Sky star Angel Reese on Team Coop, and finished with a game-high 28 points to go with four rebounds, two assists, and five steals.

Reese seemed to be impressed with Mitchell, commenting on her recent Instagram post, “That girl, bucket getter.”

“walked in the rain… withstood the pain… reapin’ the benefits of my hustle, tell ‘em i don’t want fame…” Mitchell wrote in her post. Clark commented on it, calling her “My GOAT!”

Mitchell is averaging a career-high 23.3 points per game this season. She is also averaging 1.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game in what is her fourth consecutive All-Star season. Mitchell is also shooting 50/43/85 from the floor.

Last year, she finished five in WNBA MVP voting after averaging 20.2 point per game. If Mitchell is able to continue her level of play for the rest of this season, it is probable that she will finish even higher.
