Haase, a 33-year-old catcher, has historically provided value with his bat and the ability to impact the game offensively. He owns a 22-home run season on his resume, which came with the Detroit Tigers in 2021, but his recent MLB opportunities have been limited. He has appeared in fewer than 30 games in each of the past three seasons, including 2026, when he spent time with the San Francisco Giants before being released.

Now with the White Sox organization, Haase will need to earn his way back to the major leagues while the team continues to evaluate its options behind the plate ahead of the trade deadline.
