Sophie Cunningham has 1 word for ex-Fever teammate after leaving Sky

Sophie Cunningham understands well how the business side of the WNBA works. Multiple trades happen each season ahead of the deadline as teams bolster their rosters or put the franchise in a better position for the future. In January 2025, the 6-foot-1 guard joined the Indiana Fever via an offseason trade with the Phoenix Mercury.

Cunningham has since established herself as their enforcer on the court. She has also showcased her no nonsense style of play, providing Indiana with a lot of toughness and hustle whenever she plays. The Missouri product continues to be a big part of the rotation and is one of the team’s most reliable bench contributors.

She and the Fever have turned their fortunes around after starting the season 5-5. They are looking to position themselves well ahead of the playoffs with their sights set on competing for the title.

Sophie Cunningham drops one-word reaction to former Fever teammate’s Instagram post

Chloe Bibby, a former Indiana forward, is joining the Minnesota Lynx. The Chicago Sky decided not to match the standard contract offer she received, allowing her to suit up for the league-leading team.

Bibby posted a carousel of photos of herself in action for the Sky and thanked the organization on Instagram. Cunningham left a one-word message in the comments section.

“shoooootah ,” Cunningham wrote.

The Fever signed the 28-year-old on Feb. 5, 2025. She appeared in nine games before a knee issue sidelined her for the rest of the season. On April 3, the Portland Fire drafted Bibby at No. 11 overall in the expansion draft before the Phoenix Mercury acquired her via a trade. However, the team waived her two days later, and she agreed to a developmental deal with Chicago.

Bibby is a knockdown shooter and has the ability to stretch the floor. She showcased her skill set during her time with the Fever, and she’ll likely play the same role with the Lynx.
