WNBA fans do not approve of Angel Reese’s behavior in Dream game

Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream hosted the Las Vegas Aces on Monday. It was a big test for the home team, as they faced the defending champions in a marquee matchup.

The three-time All-Star center led her team with 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting, along with 16 rebounds and two assists. Rhyne Howard supported her with 19 points and two assists. However, the visitors prevailed 109-87. Jackie Young recorded her third career triple-double, finishing with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Reese held her own against A’ja Wilson, Stephanie Talbot, and the Aces’ frontline. Despite the defeat, she proved once again that she is a menace on both ends of the floor and a walking double-double.

WNBA fans fume after Angel Reese mocks defender

A play in the third quarter went viral on X, with more than 350,000 views. Reese attacked the basket hard against Talbot, hitting her in the face with her elbow before knocking down the shot. The referees rewarded her with a potential three-point play and called a foul on the Las Vegas forward instead. The 24-year-old mocked her defender by staring and pointing at her.

Fans shared their thoughts in the comments section, mostly calling her out for her gesture.

“To not T her up there with the finger pointing and staring down at her is a joke. The league wont survive the way its going. Period,” one user commented.

“Serious question , isn’t that supposed to be a technical on her ? I know in college men’s basketball if you taunt a player you get called a technical ,” a reaction read.

“Saw that. It was bad sportsmanship. Something Reese is famous for,” one fan said.

Reese and the Dream will return to action on Wednesday against the Phoenix Mercury. They will look to get back on track after seeing the Aces snap their five-game winning streak. Atlanta is currently 18-11 and fifth in the standings.
