Caleb Williams continues to receive a lot of praise for his 2025 season, and Saquon Barkley is the latest to give him his flowers. The Philadelphia Eagles running back saw firsthand how good the Chicago Bears quarterback was last year. They met on Nov. 28 for a Black Friday game at Soldier Field.
Williams played an instrumental role in Chicago’s success. He led the team to an NFC North crown with an 11-6 record and guided the Bears to the Divisional Round. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner completed 330-of-568 passes for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He added 77 rushing attempts for 388 yards and three scores.
The 24-year-old aims to surpass his totals from last season and bring more success to the franchise. While the tough schedule ahead makes things more difficult, he is up to the challenge.

Barkley shared his thoughts about Williams’ game. He highlighted that the quarterback has not reached his peak yet. The three-time Pro Bowl running back added that the Eagles need to get past the Bears in their championship quest.
“I know he’s a great player,” Barkley said on the “Up &Adams” show. “I think it can get scary if he reaches the level I think he can get to… That’s a team that, if we want to get to where we want to get to, we have to see again.”

Barkley and his teammates are raring for the 2026 campaign to start. They won the 2025 Super Bowl but lost in the first round last season. He recorded 280 rushing attempts for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 regular-season games. The Penn State product also amassed 37 receptions for 273 yards and two scores.
Chicago and Philadelphia will face each other in Week 3 on Sept. 28. Kickoff is set for 6:15 p.m. ET at Soldier Field.
