Coming off an 11-6 season, the Chicago Bears are hopeful that 2026 will see their young team take even more steps towards becoming a true contender. Indeed, the offense led by Caleb Williams thrived in the new offense that Ben Johnson brought to Chicago.

That being said, Williams was far from perfect. While he set the franchise record for passing yards in a season, he had a woeful 58.1% completion percentage. Over the course of the off-season, both Williams and Johnson have stated that aspect of the game is something on which they have been focusing.

Obviously, the goal is for that number to go up considerably in 2026.

Williams has always had the backing of his teammates, both offensive and defensive players. Recently, two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Grady Jarrett told the media what he felt the young quarterback has improved upon the most this off-season.

“As far as Caleb, I think it’s just command of the offense,” Jarrett said (via Bears Wire). “It’s command of the huddle, self-confidence, see how far he’s come in a year’s time has been super impressive, and just the hunger to continue to work and get better everyday.”

This is certainly good news for Bears fans. Early last year, especially, there were times when Williams and Johnson were not on the same page. That was, of course, to be expected as he learned the new system. As the season went on, he got better.

And it sounds like he is even better at understanding and commanding the offense now in training camp than he was at any point last year.

Meanwhile, Jarrett himself is hoping for a bounce-back year after recording just 1.5 sacks (in 14 games) on a Bears defense that ranked near the bottom of the league in rushing the passer.
