Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22)

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever are now on a two-game winning streak after defeating the New York Liberty 106-92. They entered Tuesday’s matchup off a victory over the Chicago Sky three days earlier.

The superstar guard produced 22 points, four rebounds and 10 assists, backing Kelsey Mitchell’s 28 points, three rebounds and three assists. Aliyah Boston contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, while Monique Billings and Sophie Cunningham combined for 26 points.

It was a much-needed win as Indiana suffered back-to-back losses before Saturday’s game. The Fever improved their record to 21-12 for the season and are peaking at the right time. They are now fourth in the standings, half-a-game ahead of the Atlanta Dream.

A Caitlin Clark update arises following strong performance in Fever-Liberty game

Clark’s big game was her 19th career 20-plus point, 10-plus assist game. She now has at least six more than any franchise in WNBA history.

The three-time All-Star continues to dazzle on both ends of the floor. Her elite skill set, particularly her unlimited range and court vision, has been on full display. Clark is averaging a career-high 21.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists in a career-low 30.3 minutes per game.

She has adapted well to what defenses give her, finding her open teammates more for easy baskets. However, the 24-year-old still finds a way to contribute with her scoring, knocking down shots from different areas of the court. She will be relied upon even more as the season progresses as Indiana aims to win a championship this year.

With Mitchell on a historic streak and Boston playing consistently, the Fever will be hard to defeat. They were eliminated in the second round last year but didn’t have Clark available. While she continues to deal with a lingering back issue, the medical staff is closely monitoring her status. The team wants her as fresh as possible once the playoffs start.
