Fever announce Aliyah Boston update amid WNBA season

The Indiana Fever are amid a major season turnaround, with Aliyah Boston playing a significant role in it. They started with a 5-5 record but now hold a 21-12 record in the WNBA standings.

She averages a career-high 17.0 points, along with 8.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks. Boston earned her fourth All-Star nod and plays a key part in Indiana’s three-headed monster with Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark. She continues to provide the team with a strong interior presence and is a more vocal leader.

However, Boston also contributes in other ways and has been working hard to evolve her game. She added new weapons to her arsenal, which are paying dividends for the Fever.

Indiana announced on social media that Boston is currently leading the entire WNBA in three-point percentage. She has converted 38-of-83 attempts for a 45.8% success rate.

The South Carolina Gamecocks product did not establish herself as a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc when she entered the league. She only attempted 56 threes during her first three seasons but has shown this year that shooting from beyond the arc is now part of her offense.

Boston’s ability to shoot from deep gives Mitchell and Clark more space to operate. She can stretch the floor and force her defender to close out from the perimeter, taking out shot blockers inside the paint. Making more triples will also lessen Boston’s battles with other bigs, keeping her fresher for the playoffs.

She dealt with knee injuries earlier this season but has managed to play through them. Boston will become an even greater focal point as the campaign progresses, with Indiana aiming for a deeper postseason run. The team reached the second round in 2025 without Clark. The three-time All-Star guard is playing at an MVP-level this year. She has set her sights on a championship with the help of Boston, Mitchell and the rest of the Fever.
