A lot changed inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse just three days after Indiana Fever fans booed Stephanie White on Tuesday. The head coach received support from her players, including Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
White sent a strong message to her critics ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Sky. The 49-year-old received backlash for her postgame comments, with many saying that she defended DiJonai Carrington for her Flagrant 2 foul on Sophie Cunningham. She fired back by stressing that she takes pride in her relationship with her players.
Clark hugged White during the player introductions, while Boston expressed her support during an interview. They both made it clear that they were unhappy with the fans’ reception for their coach.

The mood was different inside Indiana’s home arena on Friday as fans cheered for White when her name was announced. She received a warm welcome as fans applauded her after the starters were introduced.

White and Co. delivered a strong performance to secure their third straight win. They defeated Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings 98-87. Clark led the way with 29 points on 11-of-18 shooting along with 10 assists., recording her 11th double-double of the season. Kelsey Mitchell supported her with 23 points, and Boston supplied 16 points an 10 rebounds. Tyasha Harris sparked the bench mob with 15 points on 5-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
Bueckers spearheaded Dallas’ attack with 29 points, six rebounds and six assists. Arike Ogunbowale contributed 20 points and six assists, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. The Wings have lost four of their last five games.
Indiana will embark on a four-game road trip beginning on Sunday against the Atlanta Fever. The team will then take on the Toronto Tempo two days later before a rematch with Dallas on Tuesday.
