The Chicago Bears came away from their preseason opener on Saturday with a 34-10 win over the Cleveland Browns. After falling behind 10-0, the Bears scored 34-unanswerd points en-route to the win.
It was a day in which he offensive starters didn’t play but on the defensive side, we saw most of the first team out there. Overall, it was good for the team to get out there and face off against a different team. With the preseason now officially underway, the next few weeks will be important not only for players attempting to make the roster but starters too.
So far in training camp, Chicago has suffered some tough injuries. The most notable has been Coby Bryant but fellow starters Montez Sweat and Braxton Jones have also been hurt. But after the game, Ben Johnson had some good news.

Neither Jones nor Sweat have practice in the past week but both have been around the team and are making progress on working to a return. After the game, Johnson had good news on both as he expects them back very soon.
The Bears left tackle job took a bit of a turn with Jones’ injury. It allowed Kiran Amegadjie and Jedrick Wills Jr. to earn reps with the first team not only in practice but in the preseason too. Still, Jones has looked the best at the position since the competition has gone on.
Getting these two back would be a nice boost for the Bears as they begin joint practices.
