The Indiana Fever won their fifth consecutive game on Tuesday, defeating the Toronto Tempo 101-95. Kelsey Mitchell also made history on the night, but it came with a concerning development.

The four-time All-Star exited in the fourth quarter and did not finish the game. However, she was able to tie the WNBA record for consecutive 20-plus point regular-season games. Mitchell finished with a game-high 29 points along with three rebounds and two assists. She matched A’ja Wilson’s feat during the 2023 and 2024 seasons and is now just one away from setting a new mark.

Caitlin Clark chipped in 24 points, three rebounds and seven assists, while Aliyah Boston supplied 16 points and six rebounds. Meanwhile, Marina Mabrey paced the Tempo with 22 points built on five three-pointers.

Fever HC Stephanie White provides update on Kelsey Mitchell

Stephanie White addressed reporters after the game. She downplayed injury concerns, stressing that the heat at Scotiabank Arena was the main reason Mitchell went to the locker room.

“Seems like she just got overheated,” White said.

The guard converted 11-of-16 shots and was perfect from the free-throw line with a 3-of-3 clip. She has been one of the most consistent Indiana players this season and has remained healthy. She will have the chance to rewrite the history books on Thursday against the New York Liberty.

However, it won’t be surprising if the Fever closely monitor her minutes. They are known for being cautious with their stars, doing their best to keep them fresh for the playoffs. Mitchell is one of their most important players, and her production will be key to their postseason success.

Indiana is 24-12 and peaking at the right time. As long as its players remains healthy, it can compete with any team in the league. Mitchell and Co. are aiming to finish the regular season strong and be in the best position ahead of the playoffs.
