Indiana Fever stars Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell are arguably the best backcourt duo in the WNBA. They have formed a strong bond on and off the court, and the third-year guard has seen firsthand how Mitchell has rewritten the history books. Clark showed her support for her via her Instagram story.

Mitchell tied A’ja Wilson’s record of 20 straight 20-plus point regular-season games. The Las Vegas Aces superstar reached the feat between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. However, Mitchell has a chance to be on top of the list on Thursday when Indiana takes on the Dallas Wings.

She already owns the record for most consecutive such games in a single season. Mitchell is not showing any signs of slowing down soon and has been one of the biggest reasons for the team’s success. She and the Fever are now 24-12 for the season and sit at third place in the standings.

The simple gesture shows how much she celebrates her teammate and the pride the 24-year-old has on her. Mitchell is averaging 24.3 points through 36 games, good for second in the league. Her dominant scoring ways has been integral to the Fever turning their fortunes around after a 5-5 start.

Mitchell has remained healthy and is expected to play on Thursday despite exiting in the fourth quarter in Toronto. Indiana head coach Stephanie White said that the heat at the venue was the reason she went to the locker room. The team gave Mitchell a probable tag with an illness. Clark is also likely to play as she has the same designation. It could be another historic night for Mitchell, and the Fever’s chance to widen the gap between them and the Aces for a top three seed.
