Indiana Fever fans witnessed a concerning development late in the team’s game against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday. Kelsey Mitchell returned to the locker less with less than four minutes left and did not return. During her postgame availability, head coach Stephanie White said that the heat inside Scotiabank Arena was the main reason for it. On Wednesday, the team announced an update on the four-time All-Star’s status.
Mitchell made history on the night, recording her 20th straight 20-plus regular-season game. She tied the all-time mark set by A’ja Wilson between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The 30-year-old finished with a game-high 29 points, along with three rebounds and four three-pointers in the 101-95 win. Caitlin Clark supported her with 24 points, three rebounds and seven assists, while Aliyah Boston contributed 16 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
It was Mitchell and Indiana’s fifth straight win and 10th in its last 12 games. The victory improved the team’s record to 24-12 for the season and moved into solo third place in the standings.

The Fever announced that Mitchell is tagged as probable to play versus the Dallas Wings despite an illness. They will visit American Airlines Center on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

It’s definitely good news for Indiana fans as it appears the star guard is not suffering from a serious issue. Meanwhile, Clark once again received the same designation but will likely be available to back. She continues to deal with a lingering back issue and has been playing through it.
Michell and Co. have their sights set on extending their hot streak. They are only leading the Las Vegas Aces by half-a-game with only eight games left on their regular season schedule. The team also aims to repeat their success over the Wings after it beat them 98-87 on Friday.
