Matas Buzelis says he won’t stop trash talking NBA star in games

.The Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers are two iconic franchises and while they aren’t rivals, they have had some fun battles over the decades. This past season, Luka Doncic was able to drop 51 points on the Bulls, saying he was fueled by trash talk from Matas Buzelis.

After Doncic scored 51 back in March, he revealed to the media that it was some trash talk that motivated him. Buzelis then admitted it was him when speaking to the media as well.  But as we get set for a new season, Buzelis was asked about that moment as a young player. He had a perfect response to it as well.

And it’s the type of confidence you want a young player like Buzelis to have.

Matas Buzelis won’t stop talking trash to Luka Doncic

Buzelis recently appeared on the “Cousins” podcast with NBA legends Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady. The duo talked to Buzelis about that moment and he offered up a great response.

“I really don’t care. Like, I’m going to do it again,” Buzelis said on the Cousins podcast. “It was tough. Like, whenever you talk to him, like, he starts really turning it up for real. So I wasn’t going to do it again, but I’m definitely going to do it again. I was giving the political answer, but I don’t really care. I really need my get-back. So, I’ll see him this year.”

“He looked at the stat sheet like modest, like he didn’t know who I was. I was like, ‘All right, bro,’” Buzelis added.

Trash talking is part of the game and Buzelis doesn’t take it personal. There’s a level of respect he has for Doncic which makes it even more fun.

The Bulls and Lakers are set to meet twice this season. The first matchup will be January 7th, then again on February 16th. I’m sure there will be some friendly banter once again between the two players.
