Stephanie White reveals Kelsey Mitchell mindset amid Caitlin Clark’s big game

Caitlin Clark stole the spotlight during the Indiana Fever’s 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday. However, Kelsey Mitchell also had a strong performance, and Stephanie White shared her mindset about the four-time All-Star.
Clark finished with 37 points on 13-of-24 shooting, including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc. She added three rebounds, 10 assists and one steal. Mitchell, on the other hand, produced 30 points, four assists and six three-pointers. Aliyah Boston missed the game due to a lower right leg injury, but Lexie Hull and Makayla Timpson stepped up with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Sky were led by Natasha Cloud’s 16 points, four rebounds and seven assists. Azura Stevens backed her with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kamilla Cardoso supplied 11 points and six rebounds.

The veteran head coach highlighted that Clark and Mitchell thrive while playing alongside each other. She also shared that Mitchell does her job and the stat sheet shows just that.
“I think C does a good job of finding ways to get Kelsey involved,” White said. “Every once in a while if we if we call a play, we we know we want to get her touches. Kelsey’s one of those that sneaks up on you sometimes. It’s like you look at the end of the game, it’s like, ‘Holy s***, she had 30 or whatever.’ And but we we know that she’s going to find a way to get hot.
“I mean, between the two of them, it doesn’t matter what the shooting percentage is in in a half or in a quarter because they can always find it, and it’s a luxury for us to have that.”
White will continue to rely heavily on Clark and Mitchell to carry majority of the Fever’s offensive load. The team has five games remaining and continue to battle with the Las Vegas Aces and Atlanta Dream for the No. 3 seed.
