Caitlin Clark’s immediate response to Fever teammate’s bold statement

Caitlin Clark is widely considered one of the best players in WNBA history. She continues to receive praise for her historic performances from fans and her teammates, including Makayla Timpson. The second-year forward delivered a bold statement about the three-time All-Star following the Indiana Fever’s 111-91 win on Friday over the Connecticut Sun.

Clark recorded 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting, with five rebounds, 12 assists and six three-pointers. Kelsey Mitchell matched her game-high scoring total and added three rebounds, four assists and four triples. Aliyah Boston returned from a one-game absence, contributing 14 points, while Timpson chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds.

The victory improved Indiana’s record to 26-14 for the season. The team will have a three-week break as the WNBA season resumes following the FIBA World Cup. Indiana’s next game is scheduled on Sept. 18 versus the Toronto Tempo.

Caitlin Clark reacts to Makayla Timpson’s high praise for her

During their postgame presser, Timpson gave Clark the highest of compliments, calling her the GOAT in the league. She highlighted the superstar guard’s shooting and playmaking whenever the Fever play.

“She’s our GOAT in the league,” Timpson said. “She just gives it her all every single night. She just does all the things. She’s shooting the ball well, giving great assists and just being her. My GOAT right here.”

Clark responded with four words to thank her teammate.

“Thanks, KK,” Clark said. “Appreciate it.”

The exchange may be brief, but it showed how much trust and belief Timpson has on Clark. The MVP candidate is enjoying a strong season and has been one of the biggest reasons for Indiana’s success.

Timpson, Clark and Co. continue to battle for a top three seed and are aiming for the title this season. It won’t be easy as the other championship favorites like the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx are in fine form all season long. However, with Clark and Kelsey Mitchell leading the way, they have more than a fighting chance.
