Fever announce Caitlin Clark as No. 1 in entire WNBA

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been the team’s main engine on the offensive end.

Clark is currently playing the best offensive season of her career, as she’s racking up 22.5 points in 36 games for the Fever.

Although she’s only the second-leading scorer on the team behind her backcourt partner, Kelsey Mitchell (25.0 points per game), Clark is leading Indiana in assists with 8.4.

This allowed her to lead the league in points created, as the team announced on its social media account.

“MVP CC PG1 leads the WNBA with 41.4 points created per game,” the team’s caption read.

The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year has been the heart of the team’s offense, not only showcasing her shooting and efficiency but also setting up teammates.

Thanks to Clark’s incredible season, the Fever is one of the best offensive teams in the league and is averaging 97.0 points per game with a +6.0 net rating.

Caitlin Clark has set four new WNBA records

On Friday, the Fever played their last game before the league’s FIBA Women’s World Cup break, welcoming the Connecticut Sun.

They dominated the Sun with a 111-91 victory, much to the delight of their home fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

She finished the game with 34 points, three rebounds, 12 assists and three steals to record Indiana’s 26th win of the season and climb up to the No. 4 spot in the rankings.

The 6-foot playmaker has set two new league records as the first player in WNBA history to have 800+ points and 300+ assists in a season and the first to have at least 300+ assists and 100+ three-pointers in a season.

Furthermore, Clark recorded her sixth 30+ points and 10+ assists, extending her own record. Lastly, she became the first player in league history to record in back-to-back games.
