One of the biggest stories of the Chicago Bears’ training camp and preseason was the injury concerns of starting nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon.

Despite Gordon being a solid player, he cannot stay healthy at all. Gordon has been dealing with a lingering calf injury all summer, and did not practice once during training camp.

It now looks like this will be a repeat of last season with the former second round pick.

On Sunday, the Bears officially put Gordon on the physically unable to perform list. This means Gordon will be missing at the very least the first four games of the 2025 season.

Bear Report’s Zack Pearson confirmed the news, via X.

The earliest the veteran nickel corner can return is Week 5, where the Bears will face off against none other than the Green Bay Packers.

Could Gordon’s tenure come to an end in Chicago?

The biggest question is what does the future hold for Gordon.

While Gordon might be a solid player, his inability to stay healthy is clearly a major frustration in Halas Hall.

Head coach Ben Johnson clearly has seemed frustrated whenever the matter has been brought up.

With the Bears’ secondary already being very thin, this is yet another big concern going into the regular season.
