Chicago Bears Colston Loveland

Colston Loveland immediately proved to the Chicago Bears last season why he deserved to be selected at No. 10 overall. The tight end delivered strong performances, helping the team win the NFC North and reaching the Divisional Round. He continues to receive a lot of praise from coaches and teammates, including Devin Bush.

Loveland appeared in 16 regular-season games and started 11. He quickly established himself as a reliable target for Caleb Williams and recorded 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns. The Michigan product earned more playing time as the campaign progressed.

As for Bush, he was the No. 10 overall pick in 2019. The linebacker signed a three-year, $30 million contract with Chicago after spending the last two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. He appeared and started all 17 regular-season games last year, registering 125 combined tackles consisting of 62 assisted and 62 solo efforts.

During training camp, coaches often matched Bush up with Loveland. He saw the second-year TE’s skill set firsthand and praised him for his development.

“Man, he’s one of those guys, he has a way of just catching that ball, dawg,” Bush said. “He’s really good at tracking the ball, he’s really good at stemming his routes and getting to his points and like I said, bringing that ball in. He has a huge catch radius. Obviously, his athleticism is just a bonus with how he’s structured and how he’s built. He’s a really tough cover.”

Many expect Loveland to play a bigger role and significantly contribute to the Bears’ quest to surpass their success in 2026. They will open their campaign on the road on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers. The following week, they will host their home opener versus the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field.
