Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston send message to Fever fans from Germany

The Indiana Fever are well represented in Germany for this year’s FIBA World Cup. Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston are part of Team USA’s lineup that is aiming to win its eighth consecutive championship. The All-Star duo sent a message to the team’s fans from Berlin.

Clark is on a historic season, setting new league marks for most 30-plus point, 10-plus assist games. She also etched her name in Indiana’s history books by scoring the most points in a single game with a career-high 45 on July 17. Meanwhile, Boston earned her fourth All-Star nod this year and remains one of the team’s most consistent contributors.

Clark and Boston are big reasons why the team is 26-14 and currently tied for fourth in the standings. Indiana has four games remaining and continues to battle with the Las Vegas Aces and Atlanta Dream for a top-three seed.

The Fever uploaded a clip of the duo from the World Cup media day. Clark and Boston greeted the team’s fans and showed that they are in high spirits ahead of the tournament.

“Hey Fever fans,” Boston and Clark said. “Caitlin and Aliyah checking in from World Cup media day. Go Fever.”

Their connection will be key to Team USA’s quest, particularly their familiarity with each other’s games. Clark’s playmaking and shooting, and Boston’s inside presence will be relied upon to challenge opposing defenses. Analysts expect them to play significant minutes and become a big part of Kara Lawson’s rotation. Indiana head coach Stephanie White serves as one her assistants.

Clark, Boston and the Fever will play their next game on Sept. 18. They will visit the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum before returning home for a two-game home stand. The team wraps up its regular season with a road matchup with the Minnesota Lynx on Sept. 24.
