Caitlin Clark and Team USA is through to the quarterfinals of the FIBA World Cup after sweeping the group phase with a 3-0 record. They defeated Czechia 105-64 on Monday. The Indiana Fever superstar shared her take on how the team’s tournament has been so far.
She started strong with a historic performance against China on Friday. Clark recorded 14 points, three rebounds, 11 assists and three three-pointers, recording the most assists by a USA player in a World Cup game in 28 years. However, she failed to build on it, registering just one point on 0-for-6 shooting versus Italy two days later. The good news is she bounced back strong with nine points and seven rebounds in the matchup with Czechia.

A reporter asked Clark to give her thoughts about her team’s run so far. She admitted that she and her teammates weren’t at their best on Sunday but was pleased with their defense during the Czechia game.
“I think you can see our chemistry slowly building and we wanted to come out here,” Clark said. “And we’re all excited that we kind of had a back-to-back and could get out here and play again. Obviously after last night we didn’t play our best, wasn’t great at all. So I thought we were much better on the offensive end, played with a lot more pace tonight, played in transition better. Thought we were good on defense and excited to have the bye and get ready for three more games.”
