Caleb Williams reacts to big Chicago Bears news

Caleb Williams continues to earn praise for his leadership. He has demonstrated it throughout training camp, which his coaches and teammates witnessed firsthand. The Chicago Bears quarterback has supported them, including D’Andre Swift, helping strengthen their bond on and off the field.

Williams is primed for an even bigger season this year. He is coming off strong performances in 2025, leading the Bears to win the NFC North and reach the Divisional Round. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner showcased his cool demeanor under pressure and earned the nickname “Iceman.” He completed 330-of-568 passes for 3,942 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Swift, on the other hand, is entering his third season with Chicago. He has established himself as one of Williams favorite targets and played 16 regular-season games last year. The veteran running back recorded 223 rushing attempts for a career-high 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns.

Caleb Williams pleased with Bears’ decision

Williams reacted to the Bears’ decision to sign Swift to a three-year, $33.75 million extension. He was pleased with it as he knows the Georgia Bulldogs product deserves it. Williams reposted the news on his Instagram story and added a message for Swift.

“Congrats fam. Time to go that piece we was talm about ,” Williams wrote.

The 27-year-old’s new deal reportedly includes $27.5 million in guaranteed money. It came just two days ahead of Chicago’s regular-season opener against the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. A three-game homestand follows as the team will host the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets in Weeks 2, 3 and and 4.

The team will rely heavily on Swift for his route running and ability to gain yardage needed for first downs. He will share snaps with Kyle Monangai. Swift is also a capable receiver, giving Williams more weapons he can maximize.
