Caitlin Clark surprises Fever teammates after returning from World Cup

Caitlin Clark is fresh off a gold medal-winning run with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup. She returned to the Indiana Fever and surprised her teammates with a gift for each one of them.

The superstar guard played a key role for the national team. She came off the bench in all six games but received ample playing time from head coach Kara Lawson. Clark showcased her elite skill set, particularly her court vision and outside shooting. She scored 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting along with three assists in the finals versus France on Sunday. The 24-year-old finished as a +11 in the 97-79 victory.

She aims to continue building on the momentum with Indiana, which is on a two-game winning streak. The team has also won seven of its last nine games to move to fifth in the standings with a 26-14 record.

Clark gave each of her Fever teammates a pair of her first signature shoe, the Nike Caitlin 1s. A video on X showed them hyped while holding their Racer Blue pairs.

Fans have been looking forward to the general release of one of most anticipated shoe lines in recent memory. The Nike Caitlin 1s are set to drop on Oct. 1 in different silhouettes, including the Racer Blue, Midnight Fever, Purple Venom, Warning Code and Cave Stone, among others.

Meanwhile, Clark and Indiana have four games left on their regular-season schedule. They will return to action on Friday to take on the Toronto Tempo at Coca-Cola Coliseum. A two-game homestand follows before their last game on Sept. against the Minnesota Lyn at Target Center. The Fever share the same record as the Atlanta Dream but don’t own the tiebreaker and trail the Las Vegas by one full game. All three teams have four assignments left.
