As the middle of the work week concludes, we move one day closer to Week 2, where the Chicago Bears will host the Minnesota Vikings at Soldier Field.

Both NFC North squads are coming off impressive victories; however, injuries may be the real storyline here.

Last week, the Vikings lost QB Kyler Murray early in the fourth quarter, as the former Sooner left the game with an apparent concussion. Carson Wentz replaced him and led the Vikings to score 29 unanswered points to close out their win against the Packers. This included 22 points in the fourth quarter.

While the status of Murray is still unknown, it’s looking likely that Wentz will start on Saturday at Soldier Field.

Today, it was revealed that the Bears may have some injury issues of their own.

D’Andre Swift, fresh off his NFC Offensive Player of the Week award, was listed on Wednesday’s injury report. He was listed as a limited participant in practice with an ankle/knee injury. Not particularly good news given Swift’s history.

His counterpart, Kyle Monangai was also listed as a limited participant with a hamstring injury.

The two ran all over the Carolina Panthers last week, combining for 224 yards and four touchdowns. They’ll face a tougher defense in Minnesota this week, and potentially losing the duo for this game would be brutal.

In addition to D’Andre Swift & Kyle Monangai, the Bears have more injury concerns

The Chicago Bears put up 59 points on Sunday, proving that their offense can be as lethal as it wants to be.

A big reason for that success? The offensive line. That group is led by RT Darnell Wright, who was an All-Pro in 2025 and has been one of Ryan Poles’ ‘slam dunk’ draft picks.

Today, he was also listed on the injury report. Wright missed practice entirely with an undisclosed knee injury, which is probably the most troubling part of the report. A couple of others were limited at practice, such as Malik Muhammad, Dayo Odeyingbo, Xavier Woods, and Ozzy Trapilo.

If Wright can’t go, the job for D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai gets much harder. There’s hope and likelihood in the fact that all, or at least some, of these are precautions.

However, as the week continues, any more missed practice would be concerning.
