Caitlin Clark update announced with 3 games left in regular season

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark now leads the WNBA in assists per game. Clark is having the best season of her career and remains the undisputed playmaker for the Fever.

After a 103-85 win over the Toronto Tempo on Friday, Clark has surpassed Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas for the most assists per game with 8.5

The team’s social media has officially announced this feat from the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year winner.

“no one dishes it out like PG1 Caitlin Clark is leading the league in assists at 8.5 APG with three games left in the regular season,” the caption read.

Clark finished with 28 points and 14 assists in Friday’s win over the Tempo, which helped her secure the top spot in the category. Thomas has dropped to second behind the Fever superstar with 8.4 assists per game.

Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell have been tearing it up for Indiana Fever

The three-time WNBA All-Star is also the Fever’s second-leading scorer with 22.6 points. She sits just behind her backcourt partner, Kelsey Mitchell, who’s averaging 25.2 points.

This incredible year for Clark and Mitchell has helped Indiana secure a playoff spot. They currently hold a a 27-14 record, good for the fifth spot in the league standings.

Clark and Mitchell also extended their WNBA record for the most 20+ points in a season to 20 after their scoring outburst in Toronto. No other backcourt in league history has done this.

The Fever also have a chance to finish in the top four for home-court advantage in the opening round of the postseason. Indiana returns to action on Sunday as they welcome the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark and Co. have three games remaining in the regular season.
