Many have reacted to seeing him go down with the ailment, including rookie defensive back Malik Muhammad, who shared his honest thoughts about it.

Cairo Santos scored Chicago only points in the game in the first quarter. Tyson Bagent replaced Williams and recorded 5-of-9 completions for 54 yards.

Chicago Bears: Malik Muhammad discusses Caleb Williams’ injury

Reporters asked Muhammad after the game for his thoughts about seeing the QB1 injured. He admitted that he and Bears fans around the world are worried.

“I’m worried,” Muhammad said. “If No. 18 gets hurt, I’m worried. I think the whole stadium was worried. Maybe the whole world. But he should be good. I asked him after the game, he’s going to be good… (Chicago head coach) Ben (Johnson) said he was in good spirits. C-Dub always in good spirits.”

On Monday, doctors will conduct a series of tests on Williams to determine the extent of his injury. The Bears will provide an update soon.

If the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner misses time, the team will likely promote Bagent to QB1. Chicago will play its next game on Sept. 28 on “Monday Night Football” against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team will then host another home game versus the New York Jets in Week 4. After that, the Bears will travel for a two-game road trip starting with a matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5.
