Indiana Fever share Kelsey Mitchell update away from WNBA

It has been a historic season for Kelsey Mitchell. The Indiana Fever star guard has broken several WNBA records, and she popularity continues to grow on and off the court. The team reacted to an update involving her on Monday.

Mitchell has scored 20-plus points in 26 consecutive regular-season games. She also became one of just six players in league history to record at least 800 career three-pointers. The 30-year-old is coming off a 22-point, two-assist game on Sunday. However, Indiana saw its three-game winning streak snapped by the Washington Mystics 93-77.

Caitlin Clark led the way with 25 points on 6-of-20 shooting, along with two rebounds, five assists and three three-pointers. Makayla Timpson is the only other Fever player who scored in double digits, finishing with 13 points and seven rebounds,

Fever posts Kelsey Mitchell update on social media

The Fever posted behind-the-scenes photos of Mitchell for Slam Magazine on Instagram. It included six pictures that showed the four-time All-Star posing in different looks with her Indiana jersey on.

Mitchell is in her her ninth season in the WNBA, all with Indiana. She is averaging a career-high 25.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Ohio State product is one of the biggest reasons why the team has turned its campaign around after a 5-5 start.

The Fever remain fifth in the standings with a 27-15 record. They have a chance to earn homecourt advantage in the first round of the WNBA playoffs if they finish within the top four. The team will next face the Minnesota Lynx at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
