Final Promo Spots for Jennifer Peedom’s ‘Tenzing’ – Now on Apple TV

Incredible achievements require great risk. Yes they do! The exquisite mountain climbing movie Tenzing is now available to watch on Apple TV streaming anytime. The film is an astonishing, exceptionally realistic mountain movie about the first summit of Mount Everest in 1953. It’s also one of my favorites of 2026. On May 29th, 1953, New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Tibetan Sherpa Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach the top of the world’s tallest mountain. Tenzing is the untold and inspiring tale of one of the most important mountain climbers in history who became the first on top of Chomolungma. Made by mountain filmmaker Jennifer Peedom (of docs Solo, Sherpa, Mountain, River) as her first narrative feature after many docs filmed in Nepal. Tenzing is a story of greatness that refuses to be diminished — and the love that makes it all possible. Starring Genden Phuntsok as Tenzing Norgay, Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary, Willem Dafoe as John Hunt the British expedition team leader, Caitríona Balfe as Jill Henderson, and Thinley Lhamo as Dawa Norgay, Tenzing’s first wife. I wrote a wonderful review of this, stating: “it is awe-inspiring and will leave everyone who watches it instilled with the sense of determination & success that got Tenzing & Ed to the top 73 years ago.” There are a few more 30 second promo spots released by Apple TV that I’m highlighting below to celebrate its official release this week. Please take the time to watch & enjoy this film. // Continue Reading ›
