It’s official. Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark has been named an All-Star starter for a third consecutive year.

The 10 starters for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game were announced on Thursday. Clark will join teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston in the starting lineups after all three Fever stars received enough votes from fans, the media and WNBA players.

Clark earned her third All-Star nod amid a strong campaign with the Fever. The 24-year-old is currently averaging a career-high 21.2 points on 43.0% shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 30.8 minutes per contest. She is also knocking down 2.6 triples per game on a 34.4% clip.

Caitlin Clark’s All-Star votes revealed

The good news did not come without controversy, though. After the full voting results were released, the fans could not help but notice a glaring detail about Clark.

Fans account for 50% of the vote, while a select media panel and active WNBA players each account for 25%. Clark finished third among all guards behind Paige Bueckers and rookie Olivia Miles, respectively.

The Fever superstar received a weighted score of 4.5. She ranked second in the fan vote (behind Bueckers) and third in the media vote (behind Miles and Bueckers, respectively). However, what stood out to fans on social media was how Clark ranked all the way down at 11th in the player vote.

This has caused quite an uproar on X, with users accusing WNBA players of bias against Clark.

“You cannot say that WNBA players aren’t jealous and petty. Here’s proof again in another all-star voting,” a comment read.

“Players thinking Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum are the 11th and 12th best guards ITL says it all. Unserious league full of clowns,” another said.

“If the players rank CC at 11, why is she the only one guarded for 94 feet every possession?” a supporter asked.

“They are all so jealous of Caitlin it’s insane,” a reaction read.

“Unreal. Players don’t think Caitlin is a top guard in the league but they are all over her and harass her like no other,” declared another.

“The players ranking Caitlin 11th is nasty 😭😭😭” a user wrote.

Regardless of her final rank, the fact of the matter is that Clark will be a starter come the All-Star Game on July 25. This year’s festivities will be held at United Center in Chicago.
