Fever announce Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell update after win vs. Wings

The Indiana Fever extended their winning streak on Friday to three games. They electrified the home fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with an impressive performance, shooting 52.7%, including 37.5% from beyond the arc. Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell once again led the team to victory as the top two scorers.

The 2024 No. 1 pick scored 29 points and recorded 10 assists, while Mitchell supplied 23 points. Aliyah Boston contributed a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Tyasha Harris added 15 points with five three-pointers to support the All-Star backcourt duo.

Meanwhile, Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale paced Dallas with 29 and 20 points, respectively. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year added six rebounds and six assists in the 98-87 defeat.

Friday’s double-double was Clark’s 11th of the season and the 20th 20-plus point, 10-plus assist of her pro career. She is now 10 clear of Courtney Vandersloot for first place in the league’s all-time list.

The Fever also announced that Mitchell’s streak of consecutive 20-plus point games is now at 18. She already owns the all-time record in single season and just two away from tying A’ja Wilson’s record. The Las Vegas Aces superstar reached the mark between the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Indiana won eight of its last 10 games. The team started the season 5-5 but now stands at 22-12 and is in a good position to secure a top three seed. Clark continues to deal with a lingering back issue and will likely receive more probable designations ahead of matchups. Coaches will closely monitor her minutes to keep her as fresh as possible for the playoffs. Mitchell, on the other hand, remains healthy and will continue to be relied upon heavily for her dominant scoring ways.
