Caitlin Clark update surfaces before WNBA playoffs

Nike will release Caitlin Clark’s first signature shoes on Thursday. It is likely that retailers will sell out fast, as fans and sneakerheads are looking forward to it. An exciting update about the Indiana Fever star’s Nike Caitlin 1s surfaced on Friday.

Clark and the Fever are busy preparing for their first-round playoff series. They wrapped up their regular-season with two losses in their last three games and need to move past it immediately. Indiana is the No. 6 seed and will face the defending champions, the No. 3-seeded Las Vegas Aces.

The three-time All-Star struggled mightily versus the Minnesota Lynx on Thursday. She recorded just two points, on 1-of-12 shooting, along with four rebounds and three assists in the 86-66 defeat. Clark doesn’t have off nights often and is expected to bounce back from it quickly.

Later this year, Nike will release a new colorway of the Caitlin 1s. The Racer Blue/Pink silhouette of Clark’s first signature shoes will reportedly be available in the Holiday season at $140 per full size pair. Sole Retriever posted the first look on the upcoming pair on X.

Clark debuted the Racer Blue colorway in June, which garnered a lot of attention. She has since worn other colors of the Nike Caitlin 1s, including the Kansas City Chiefs-inspired pairs.

Meanwhile, Clark and Indiana will return to action for Game 1 on Sunday. They will be the visiting team and will face homecourt disadvantage. However, the team shouldn’t be counted out. It has a formidable lineup that includes its three-headed monster of Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston. A’ja Wilson won’t make it easy to upset her team, but the Fever have shown what they’re capable of all season long.

The tip-off will be at 4 p.m. ET at Michelob Ultra Arena. They will play Game 2 two days later at an expected sold-out Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
