DiJonai Carrington and the Chicago Sky failed to qualify for the playoffs this season. However, the veteran guard is watching the postseason closely, attending Game 2 of the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Sky finished 11th in the standings with a 16-28 record. Carrington missed the first 27 games as she recovered from an injury suffered in 2025. She appeared in 11 games, averaging 8.8 points and 3.1 rebounds. However, her solid play wasn’t enough for the team to make the playoffs for the first time in three years.
Carrington and Co. also lost six of their last seven games, failing to gain momentum ahead of the 2027 campaign. She is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and it’s unclear if she’ll return to the franchise.

The 28-year-old posted a photo of her on her Instagram story. She wore an Aces crop top, showing her support for the defending champions. An X user posted a video of Carrington walking inside the venue.

Carrington grabbed a lot of headlines earlier this season for her Flagrant 2 foul on Sophie Cunningham in August. She also garnered a lot of attention for her social media posts following the incident.
Meanwhile, Indiana defeated Las Vegas 99-89 on Tuesday. Caitlin Clark led the way for the No. 6-seeded team, delivering a historic performance. They will meet again on Thursday for the winner-take-all Game 3 at Michelob Ultra Arena. The venue will likely be filled, and it remains to be seen if Carrington will once again watch live. The winner will advance to the second round to face either the No. 2 Golden State Valkyries or the No. 7 Dallas Wings. CNBC will show the game live, with tip off set at 9 p.m. ET.
