Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White (R) talks to injured guard Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese went at it again on Saturday in the latest edition of their fierce on-court rivalry.

This was the second time the Fever and the Atlanta Dream faced off in the last three days. Unfortunately for Clark and Co., the matchups resulted in back-to-back losses.

The Dream defeated the Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday, 108-101. Atlanta made it two wins in a row on Saturday with a 113-96 home victory at State Farm Arena.

Reese turned in a strong performance to help lead the Dream to a win on Saturday. The 6-foot-4 forward registered 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block in 31 minutes of action.

Reese also made history in the game by becoming the fastest player to 1,000 career rebounds.

Caitlin Clark wanted to give Stephanie White a win on her birthday

Fever head coach Stephanie White celebrated her 49th birthday on Saturday. Before the game, Clark was asked if she had already gotten her coach a present. The two-time WNBA All-Star explained that her plan was to gift her coach with a win.

“For her birthday? I haven’t yet (gotten her anything),” Clark said. “I’m trying to get her a win. I guess there’s that.”

Clark did all she could to fulfill her promise. She led the Fever in scoring with 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting. The 24-year-old also added three rebounds, seven assists, one steal and three triples. It still wasn’t enough, though, resulting in White taking a loss on her birthday.

Reese was instrumental in foling Clark’s birthday plans for her coach. However, the Dream star also got a lot of help from her teammates. All five Atlanta starters scored in double figures, with Rhyne Howard (24 points) and Allisha Gray (22 points) leading the way.

The Fever and the Dream will face off for a fourth a final time on August 16 in Atlanta. Reese and Co. will enter that matchup with a 2-1 season series advantage.
