Caleb Wilson draws comparison to former NBA star

We are less than a week away from the 2026 NBA Draft and it’s shaping up to be an interesting one. With the general consensus being the same four players going in the first four picks, the drama could come right after that.

For the Chicago Bulls, they hold pick No. 4 overall but also pick at No. 15. With two first-round picks, they have the chance to speed up this rebuild and land two really good players. One player who the Bulls are being connected to is former North Carolina star Caleb Wilson.

He’s part of the group of four that are expected to go 1-4 in the draft, along with AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson and Cameron Boozer. Most mocks have Wilson landing with the Bulls at No. 4 overall, barring any surprises. But as we sit here with under a week to go, a current NBA veteran had an interesting comparison for Wilson at the NBA level. And it’s one that Bulls’ fans would certainly take if he were the pick.

Draymond Green believes Caleb Wilson’s floor is Kevin Garnett

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has had a successful NBA career, spending 14 years and all with Golden State. He’s seen a lot of basketball and during a recent episode of “The Draymond Green Show”, he discussed the top four guys. He went as far as saying Wilson could be the most special of the group.

He then went on to say his floor is Kevin Garnett.

“I actually think Caleb Wilson may be the most special of the group,” Green said on “The Draymond Green Show.”

“I saw people saying his floor was Paul Millsap and his ceiling was Kevin Garnett,” Green added.

“And no disrespect to KG. KG is probably [one of the] top three power forwards we’ve ever seen in our lifetime. KG [had] tenacity and all of that. I think [with] Caleb Wilson, now obviously you’ve got to do the work, and he isn’t going to walk in like [Garnett], but the type of talent he is, barring that he goes to do the work, I actually think his floor is Kevin Garnett.

“And man, if that’s your floor, oh my god. Do you know how great KG was? I actually think with Caleb Wilson, Kevin Garnett could be his floor. That’s how special I think Caleb Wilson is.”

That is a hell of a comp.

Wilson spent one season at North Carolina but it was cut short due to an injury in February. He didn’t return after suffering another injury right before the season finale against Duke. But when he was on the court, he showed how special he was.

The forward averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.4 blocks per game.  He made 24 starts and shot 57.8 percent from the field in his lone year at UNC. He showcased his ability to be a factor on both offense and defense.

If Wilson is there for the Bulls at No. 4, it’s a no-brainer.
