Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

More than a few fans will agree that Caleb Williams did not exactly live up to the lofty expectations most had of him during his rookie year.

After the Chicago Bears selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the former Oklahoma and USC star finished with a 5-12 quarterback record in his first season. Perhaps the biggest criticism he faced was the 68 sacks he took in 2024, resulting in a staggering 466 lost yards.

Williams was a different player in Year 2, though. He came out guns blazing, and he never took his foot off the gas.

The 24-year-old led the Bears to the NFC North title behind an 11-6 record. Williams was instrumental in Chicago’s first playoff win since 2010, as they defeated their bitter rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in the Wild Card Round.

NFL analyst Kay Adams all in on Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams

As good as Williams was in his second season, NFL analyst Kay Adams believes that the Bears star has a lot more to offer in 2026. In fact, the 40-year-old is adamant that Williams will win the Most Valuable Player trophy this coming season.

“Dark Horse MVP. I don’t know why he’s a dark horse, though,” Adams started. “Caleb Williams? Anyone ever heard of him? Cover of Madden, dark horse? Question mark.”

Adams then pulled out some of Williams’ tape from last season. She highlighted the former Heisman Trophy winner’s rapid improvement.

“I’ll be honest, I just wanted to remember and relive these amazing highs that we got from Caleb Williams,” she continued. “The aura, off the charts. Chemistry, building. Confidence, building. Got better every game, building. The talent’s there. He was working miracles.”

According to Adams’ intel, Williams is set to take his game to another level in 2026. This is exactly why she believes the Bears QB will be the first Bears player to win MVP since Walter Payton bagged the title in 1977.

“Everything we’re hearing out of Chicago/Indiana is about how he’s been getting more and more comfortable and confident with Ben Johnson this offseason,” Adams reported. “Dialed in, and as great as he was last year, I do think the ceiling is much higher.

“I’ve seen people point out the completion percentage, some of the areas for improvement, like it’s a bad thing. What is wrong with you people? He won 11 games and pushed for a Super Bowl despite all of that. Can you imagine what it’ll look like if he cleans that stuff up?

“Caleb, +$1,500 to win MVP. All in. I’m all in on that one on FanDuel Sportsbook.”
