The Chicago Cubs improved to 48-38 on the season with their 9-7 victory over the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night. It was their fourth consecutive win and allowed them to remain 5.5 games out of first place in the National League Central Division.

Tuesday night’s victory also saw multiple Cubs players hit home runs, including two from the suddenly red-hot Dansby Swanson. But it was Pete Crow Armstrong’s blast in the sixth inning that put him on a very exclusive list among some of the franchise’s most revered legends.

On Tuesday night, Crow-Armstrong hit a solo home run in bottom of the sixth inning, which was his 11th bomb of the month of June. This blast put him in some pretty exclusive company among Cubs legends:

As one can see from the post above, only Ernie Banks and Kris Bryant hit more than 10 home runs in a month while they were 24 years old or younger.

On the season, Crow-Armstrong is now hitting .284/.373/.515 with 18 home runs, 46 RBI, and 20 stolen bases. He got off to a horribly slow start to the season, and at one point was relegated to ninth in the batting order.

In March/April, he hit just .241/.307/.362 with three home runs and 13 RBI. May saw him struggle as well, as he hit .233/.344/.417 with four home runs and 13 RBI. But June saw Crow-Armstrong snap out of his funk in convincing fashion, as he hit .381/.468/.781 with 11 home runs and 20 RBI.

At this point, he almost will assuredly be a National League All-Star again. Hopefully he can avoid the late-season slide that he suffered last year in the second half.
