The Only Living Pickpocket in New York Trailer

“I lost something. It’s real important I get it back.” Sony Pictures Classics has unveiled an official trailer for the film The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, an acclaimed new NYC love letter made by actor / filmmaker Noah Segan. This initially premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival earlier in the year to many rave reviews – it’s one of the better films coming out of this year’s fest. Led by John Turturro in one of his finest performances, the film follows Harry, an old school hustler / pickpocket. A classic native New Yorker, he moves through life lubricating palms with cash, relying on his wits & connections. But times are changing for Harry. His daily take isn’t green bills & wristwatches, it’s credit cards and cell phones. And one unfortunate night, cryptocurrency and a handgun – which gets him into big trouble. A nostalgic portrait of a small-time career criminal navigating today’s digitally networked world. Featuring Turturro as Harry, with Giancarlo Esposito, Will Price, Tatiana Maslany, Victoria Moroles, Steve Buscemi, and Jamie Lee Curtis. I’m a big fan of this film! It’s old school, down-and-dirty filmmaking and the story is simple but it works well as a how-things-have-changed NYC parable. Definitely worth a watch when it’s out in theaters. // Continue Reading ›
