“I felt love, I’ve tasted victory, and I’ve been brought to my knees…” 🏈 Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for the sports movie Mr. Irrelevant, an underdog success story from the 1980s. This is hitting theaters at Christmas and it’s poised to be a major hit in the US, pulling in football fans for another feel-good story. “Mr. Irrelevant” is the nickname given to a player selected with the final pick in an NFL draft. Mr. Irrelevant: The Movie is the inspiring true story of John Tuggle, as played by Superman himself David Corenswet, the last player selected in the last round of the 1983 NFL draft by the New York Giants. A true underdog, Tuggle defied expectations on the field and off for his then first-year head coach, Bill Parcells, as played by Michael Shannon. Tuggle played most of the 1983 season on special teams, but was promoted to starting fullback in week 12 when Rob Carpenter was injured, eventually being voted the special teams player of the year by his teammates. Corenswet & Shannon co-star with Isabel May, David Krumholtz, Tuwaine Barrett, Thaddeus LaGrone, Alexander England, Spencer House, & Tandi Wright.
